We are thrilled to announce that Peter Brown has been awarded Life Membership to the Ballarat Football Umpires Association (BFUA) in recognition of his exceptional contributions over the past 17 years. Peter has umpired over 150 Ballarat Senior games as a field umpire, showcasing his skills and commitment to the sport. His expertise was particularly evident during the two Ballarat Senior Grand Finals he officiated in 2017 and 2018. These matches highlighted Peter's ability to perform under pressure and maintain the highest standards of umpiring excellence.

For over a decade, Peter has been a mentor to our developing umpires, guiding and nurturing the next generation of umpires. His dedication to mentorship was recognised in 2022 when he was awarded the Mentor of the Year at our Presentation Evening. Peter's tireless work in supporting young umpires has been instrumental in their growth, and he continues to play a crucial role in the junior competition, shaping the umpires of tomorrow.

Peter's commitment to the BFUA extends beyond the field. He served on the board for four years, from 2015 to 2018, during which he played a vital role in advancing our association and steering us towards becoming the modern organisation we are today. His contributions to community engagement and fundraising activities, such as Bunnings BBQs, have further demonstrated his dedication to our cause.
